Leonardo Hotel Athens City Center Opens, Expanding Fattal's Greek Presence

Athens continues to attract Israeli tourists, with a newly rebranded hotel now available in the city center. The former Great Athens Hotel has been relaunched as the Leonardo Hotel Athens City Center, part of the Fattal Hotel chain. Located at Veranzerou 12, near Omonia Square and major shopping areas, the hotel offers a central base for exploring the Greek capital.

The nine-story hotel features 117 rooms and suites across four categories, some with balconies. A key amenity is its rooftop area, which includes a garden, swimming pool, and bar, providing panoramic views of Athens, including the Acropolis. The hotel also houses a lobby lounge, coffee bar, restaurant, and seating areas.

This marks Fattal's second hotel in Athens, alongside the NYX Esperia Palace Athens, and is part of the company's broader expansion in Greece and the Mediterranean. Fattal sees significant growth potential in Greece and plans to introduce more Leonardo brand hotels in the region, with future openings anticipated in Cyprus, Montenegro, Croatia, and Albania.

The rebranding of the Great Athens Hotel reflects a larger trend in Athens' hospitality sector, with new brands entering the market and existing hotels undergoing renovations and rebranding. For Israeli travelers, this offers another accommodation option in a city where location is a primary consideration for short trips focused on maximizing sightseeing, dining, and shopping.
