New Agricultural Settlement Taron Established in Jordan Valley

Approximately 20 families have moved into Taron, a new agricultural settlement established in Israel's Jordan Valley. The settlement was inaugurated just before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. According to the "Hashomer Hadas" organization, which spearheaded the project in collaboration with governmental and public bodies, Taron is the first agricultural settlement established in Israel in about two decades.

The new settlement is part of the "Otef Israel" project, initiated following the events of October 7th. Its primary objective is to establish and reinforce communities along Israel's eastern border.

Residents of Taron are expected to focus on agricultural activities and the development of local infrastructure. The project's organizers view the creation of Taron as a component of a long-term strategy to strengthen border regions and attract new families. The initiative involves the participation of various state and civic organizations.

The settlement of the initial families marks a significant milestone in Taron's development and contributes to the expansion of agricultural communities in the Jordan Valley.
