Illegal Wildlife Holding Ring Busted Near Tulkarm; Two Deer, Two Badgers Seized
Israeli forces, including Border Police from Judea and Samaria and detectives from the Central District, along with Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, conducted an operation Thursday night in the village of Shuwaika, near Tulkarm. The operation targeted an illegal wildlife holding ring.
During the raid on a compound in the village, officers discovered two deer and two badgers being held unlawfully. Nature and Parks Authority officials tranquilized and captured the animals, transferring them for further care. A suspect, a Tulkarm resident in his 60s, was arrested and taken for questioning by the Central District Border Police.
The investigation into the illegal holding of protected wild animals had been ongoing within the Central District Border Police. The arrested suspect is now facing further inquiry.
