Israeli Soldier Detained After Firing on Stone-Throwers
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the detention of a soldier who opened fire on individuals throwing stones at him near the village of Al-Murayr on Saturday, September 12. The soldier, who was on leave at the time, stated that he fired his weapon in response to a stone-throwing attack. The military police have taken custody of the soldier to investigate the circumstances surrounding the use of his weapon. He has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the investigation. The IDF clarified that no other soldiers were present at the scene and no injuries resulted from the incident.
