Off-Duty Soldier Arrested, Suspended After Firing at Stone Throwers Near Ramallah
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that an off-duty soldier fired towards individuals throwing stones at him near the Palestinian village of al-Muryayeh, northeast of Ramallah. The incident occurred yesterday after the soldier, who was on leave, was targeted by stone-throwers. No other IDF forces were present at the scene during the event, and there were no reported injuries from the gunfire.
The soldier was subsequently arrested by police for further investigation into the circumstances of the shooting. He has been suspended from his duties pending the completion of the inquiry.
