Israel Conducts Raids, Shelling in Southern Syria Amid Escalation

Local sources in southern Syria reported that an Israeli infantry force infiltrated the Juret al-Lawz area near Tal al-Wardah, on the outskirts of the town of Beit Jinn. Simultaneously, Syrian army forces shelled the western area of the town with four artillery shells. The shelling reportedly focused on Tal Harboun in the western outskirts of Beit Jinn, causing minor fires but no reported casualties. The sources indicated ongoing shelling in the area amid heightened tension among residents.

In Quneitra province, an Israeli force comprising tanks, military vehicles, and troop carriers advanced into the Tal Ahmar area, near the village of Ain al-Nour in the northern countryside. Syrian state media reported the force included three tanks, 12 military vehicles, and over 10 troop carriers, with no further details on their movements or any clashes.

This escalation in Beit Jinn follows similar Israeli shelling two days prior, which targeted the vicinity of Tal al-Wardah. Syrian state news agency reported last Friday that Israeli artillery shells landed near the hill, with one shell hitting the town's outskirts, also without casualties.

Southern Syrian regions have experienced frequent Israeli incursions and shelling targeting sites and towns in the Damascus and Quneitra countrysides for months. Syrian and UN warnings have been issued regarding the repercussions of these actions on Syrian sovereignty.
