Fire Near Northern Israeli Mall Threatens Homes Amid Strong Winds
A large fire broke out Saturday evening in an open area near the town of Yarka in northern Israel, behind the Big Fashion shopping complex. Firefighters received reports of heavy, thick black smoke emanating from the scene. Upon arrival, initial teams identified a fire with a high heat and smoke load.
Fueled by strong winds, the blaze is spreading rapidly towards nearby residential buildings. Multiple firefighting teams from the Zvulun station are working to contain the fire and prevent it from reaching the houses. Additional forces, including water supply vehicles, have been dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters are actively engaged in extinguishing the flames and directly protecting the residential structures. As of Saturday evening, full control of the fire had not yet been achieved. The circumstances surrounding the fire's origin are currently under investigation.
