Thai media reported Friday that numerous demonstrators protesting Israeli tourism surrounded the Chabad House in Phuket. Following these events, many Israelis posted on Facebook groups that the Chabad House decided to cancel its Rosh Hashanah meal, acting on the recommendation of local security officials.
Earlier in the week, Thailand's Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow summoned Israel's Ambassador to Thailand, Dr. Alona Fisher-Kamm, for a warning conversation. During the meeting, he expressed his displeasure with the behavior of Israeli tourists in the country.
