Joint List Denounces Settlement Outpost in Majd al-Krum

The Joint List political party issued a statement on Friday condemning the establishment of a settlement outpost in the al-Rous area of Majd al-Krum, on land largely owned by local residents. The party declared its solidarity with the residents of Majd al-Krum, its popular committee, and its local council.

The Joint List asserted that the events in Majd al-Krum are not isolated but represent a direct implementation of warnings they have repeatedly issued regarding Prime Minister Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben-Gvir's alleged efforts to extend settlement and expulsion policies from the West Bank into Arab towns in the Galilee and Negev.

The party highlighted that the arrival of settlers from West Bank settlements to Majd al-Krum, coinciding with a ten-year plan to bolster Jewish settlement and alter the demographic reality in the Galilee, indicates an active, ongoing plan rather than a future concern. They noted that the approaching olive harvest season intensifies the immediate danger to landowners.

Concluding their statement, the Joint List framed the issue as an existential battle for their land, emphasizing that high voter turnout in the upcoming elections on October 27th is crucial to politically counter the government's policies. They vowed to stop the outpost and prevent its consolidation, demanding accountability for those who facilitated it administratively and legally, and called their vote the first line of defense for the Galilee and Negev.
