IDF on High Alert Across Multiple Fronts During Holiday
Despite Israel celebrating the Jewish New Year, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) maintained a high state of alert across various fronts, including Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, due to regional tensions. In the West Bank, 26 battalions were actively deployed. Forces were also positioned along the borders with Lebanon and Syria, with the Air Force prepared for a swift strike in Iran.
In the Northern Command, IDF units continued operations in southern Lebanon and Syria to neutralize threats. Division 36 remained in southern Lebanon following the dismantling of tunnels near Mount Ali Taher, with its forces stationed in the Beaufort area and adjacent to the ridge. Division 91 forces were reportedly holding the "blue line" from the sea to the mountains.
Elements of the Bashan Division were scheduled to conduct security operations along the Syrian border, including the Hermon sector and southern Syrian Golan Heights, even on the eve of the holiday. The IDF stated that soldiers, both regular and reserve, across all sectors are central to the fight, continuing their mission to protect Israeli civilians during the holiday and the new year.
