Oscar Gloukh's Value Plummets, Ajax Faces Dilemma

Israeli midfielder Oscar Gloukh, who started the season promisingly for Ajax in the Conference League, is reportedly struggling to maintain his form in the domestic league, leading to speculation about his future. A recent analysis by FootballTransfers suggests that increased competition and tactical shifts within the Ajax squad may leave the club with a valuable player who doesn't have a natural starting position. Gloukh has started eight of Ajax's nine games this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist across all competitions. However, he has recently lost his preferred number 10 role to Julian Brandt and is now often deployed on the left wing, a position considered less suitable for his skills and Ajax's system, which requires wingers to maintain width.

The analysis further indicates that Gloukh faces stiff competition for the left wing spot, especially with Steven Bergwijn expected to return from injury in October, making him the natural choice for that position. The report highlights a significant drop in Gloukh's estimated market value, from 23.8 million euros at the end of 2025 to a current valuation of 13.2 million euros, a decrease of approximately 44.5%. If Gloukh continues to lose playing time, this downward trend in value is likely to persist. Ajax acquired him from Red Bull Salzburg for 14.8 million euros.
