Oscar Gloukh Commits to Ajax for Upcoming Season Amidst Role Clarity

Israeli midfielder Oscar Gloukh, 22, has confirmed his intention to stay with Ajax for the upcoming season, dispelling recent uncertainty about his future. Gloukh expressed comfort and confidence under new head coach Michel, who has been utilizing him more consistently in his preferred attacking midfield role behind the striker.

Gloukh stated in an interview with Dutch ESPN that he is not considering a transfer and has not discussed it with his agent or family. "I know I will stay here, and that is the most important thing for me. I want to keep working and prove myself," he said. He feels the new coach provides him with more security and is eager to continue working hard to earn his place.

Despite facing significant competition for the number 10 position, particularly with the arrival of Julian Brandt, Gloukh sees it as an opportunity. "It's not easy, because he is an excellent player. But I can learn a lot from him, and if the coach prefers me, that would obviously be great. On the other hand, we can also play together," Gloukh commented.

His first season at Ajax was challenging, with Gloukh playing in various positions. Under Michel, he has found a more defined role as an attacking midfielder, an area where he feels more comfortable and effective. He believes in his abilities and aims to contribute to the team's success.
