Oscar Gloukh Commits to Ajax for Upcoming Season Amidst Coaching Change

Israeli midfielder Oscar Gloukh, 22, has stated his intention to remain with Ajax for the upcoming season, dispelling recent speculation about his future. Gloukh expressed comfort and confidence under new head coach Xabi Míchel, who has reportedly given him more playing time and a clearer role.

Gloukh described his first season at Ajax as challenging but noted that Míchel's arrival has positively impacted his situation. The Spanish coach has been utilizing Gloukh more consistently in an attacking midfield role behind the striker, a position where the Israeli feels most effective.

In an interview with Dutch ESPN, Gloukh emphasized his commitment, saying, "I'm not thinking about a transfer at all, and I haven't spoken about it with my agent or my family. I know I'm staying here, and that's the most important thing for me. I want to keep working and prove myself."

He also addressed the competition for a starting spot, particularly with the arrival of Julian Brandt, acknowledging Brandt as an excellent player from whom he can learn. Gloukh added that while he hopes to play, he believes they could potentially play together.

Gloukh's first season saw him play in various positions, but under Míchel, he has found a more defined role as an attacking midfielder. He is determined to continue working hard and proving his abilities to help the team succeed.
