Man Arrested for Kidnapping 10-Year-Old Boy in Central Israel

Yigal Buskila, a 19-year-old homeless man, is suspected of kidnapping 10-year-old Yahli Sofer from his home in Petah Tikva in late August. Buskila was apprehended in Bnei Brak shortly after the disappearance, walking alongside the child. Police had launched an extensive search operation involving advanced technological means after the boy was reported missing.

Buskila is also suspected of assaulting other children in various locations across Israel. His attorney, Frida Wohl, stated that Buskila suffers from an intellectual disability, suggesting complexity in his case. The dramatic moments of the child's recovery were captured on video, showing police officers locating the boy and Buskila walking together on a street in Bnei Brak early in the morning.

In the footage, an officer is heard confirming the child's identity and questioning Buskila, informing him that he is being detained for police questioning. The incident began overnight when the boy disappeared from his home, prompting a large-scale search by the Petah Tikva police station.
