Netanyahu Calls for National Unity in Rosh Hashanah Message Amidst Election Year

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released his traditional Rosh Hashanah message to the public, reflecting on the past year marked by war and hostages, and highlighting Israel's security and economic achievements. Looking ahead to the election period, he urged national unity, stating, "This year too, there will be disagreements, but in moments of trial, this people always knows how to unite."

Netanyahu began by recalling the plea for a better year on the previous Rosh Hashanah, emphasizing the primary wish for the return of all hostages. He noted the return of fallen soldiers, including Sergeant Major Yehuda Katz, who was brought home 44 years after his death, underscoring the commitment to not forget.

The Prime Minister then addressed the security situation, detailing Israel's offensive actions against its enemies. "We asked that our enemies and haters be cut down, and I can tell you that we have personally granted this blessing to quite a few of them. We did what we know how to do best in the world, to lead, to surprise, and to initiate," he said.

Highlighting Israel's resilience, Netanyahu declared, "Israel is a global power today," praising immigration and economic growth. "Don't mistake us, because in moments of trial, this people knows how to unite. When we stand together, there is no force in the world that can defeat us."
