Itay Levy Wins Artist of the Year, Prays for Mother's Health
Israeli singer Itay Levy achieved a double win during the annual Radio Darom Israeli Parade broadcast, hosted by Yoram Swisa, earning both "Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year" for his album "13." During the celebratory interview, Levy shared insights into the creation of his album, which aimed for a gimmick-free approach, distinguishing itself by naming tracks with numbers instead of titles. He also revealed that the album's dark visual concept, featuring him covering his face with his hands, emerged spontaneously during a photoshoot.
In an emotional moment, Swisa asked Levy to recreate the album cover pose and pray for the new year. When Swisa guessed the prayer was for his mother, Ruth, who has been dealing with a complex medical condition for years, Levy confirmed it with deep concern. "Her well-being is our well-being, we are praying, God will help and it will be okay," Levy stated.
Beyond the musical accolades and personal reflections, Levy announced upcoming projects. He is currently working on a new family musical dedicated to the work of a late, great Israeli artist. Additionally, Levy confirmed his return to the theater stage, alongside filming the new season of "The Star Next Star" and the second season of the show "Rest."
