Protest Leader Bar-Sler Slams Likud Over Candidate Slots

Shikma Bressler, a prominent leader of the anti-government protest movement and a frequent collaborator with the Brothers in Arms organization, has launched a sharp attack following the Likud party's approval of reserved spots on its Knesset list. Bressler responded forcefully to comments made by Talik Guili, the mother of fallen hostage Sergeant Major Rani Guili, who was given a reserved spot at number 9. Guili had stated upon joining the party that 'if the other camp wins, the memory of the kingdom's heroes will disappear.' In a strong retort, Bressler declared, 'We will remove a government of evil from the land.'

The confrontation occurred shortly after the Likud secretariat approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's slate of reserved candidates. The party statement praised Guili's actions and strength, noting her son's bravery in falling on October 7th and his body's subsequent return in a special operation. However, her remarks about the opposing camp winning sparked considerable anger.

Alongside Guili at number 9, other reserved spots approved included Yaakov Bardugo (11), Elisha Medan (15), Adv. David Peter (16), Eli Goldschmidt (26), and Itzik Bonzel (29). A dramatic turn involved Brigadier General (Res.) Amir Aviv, who was placed at number 35 and decided to relinquish his spot. In response, Netanyahu announced to the secretariat that Aviv would 'serve as an external minister.'
