"I don't believe in the word 'regret,'" Trump said, emphasizing that he would follow the exact same course of action. He asserted that U.S. operations prevented Iran from advancing toward military nuclear capability, arguing that the alternative policy would have been far more dangerous and could have led to Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons.
Trump further claimed that the Iranian leadership would not have refrained from using nuclear weapons if they had obtained them, posing a direct threat not only to Israel and the wider region but also to American interests. He warned that a nuclear Iran would have drastically altered the Middle East balance of power, creating severe danger for Israel and potentially escalating to other nations and even U.S. cities.
