Tens of Thousands Attend Final Selichot Prayers at Western Wall Before Rosh Hashanah

Tens of thousands of worshippers gathered at the Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem on Thursday night for the final Selichot (penitential prayers) service before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The service, held on the eve of the holiday, saw a massive turnout.

The prayers were led by prominent rabbis, including the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, and former Sephardic Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar. Several public figures also attended the event, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, Knesset members Limor Son Har-Melech and Ohad Tal, and Jerusalem District Police Commander Avshalom Peled.

The event marked a significant religious gathering as the Jewish community prepared to observe the High Holidays.
