Netanyahu Prays at Western Wall, Vows to Prevent Iran Nuclear Weapons

Arutz ShevaRight

The story · English

Hours before the Jewish New Year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Thursday evening to offer prayers. He was accompanied by Mordechai (Suli) Eliyav, the director-general of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

During his visit, Netanyahu recited a chapter from Psalms and prayed for the success of the state, the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, and a good and blessed year for all Israeli citizens.

Following his prayers, Netanyahu made a statement regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions. "President Trump announced this evening that Iran is trying to rearm with nuclear weapons, and that is correct," Netanyahu stated. "After we destroyed their immediate capability to produce nuclear bombs, they are trying again. I promise you here, at the Western Wall, ahead of Rosh Hashanah: as long as I am prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons."

He added that Israel is actively striking the Iranian axis, not only in Gaza but also in Lebanon, mentioning the destruction of the Beaufort Ridge and ongoing operations at the Ali Taher Ridge.
