Boy, 5, Critically Injured in Attack That Killed Cousin, Identifies Suspect

A five-year-old boy, Ray Hanan Alon, is recovering physically and mentally after being severely wounded in an attack that killed his seven-year-old cousin, Hillel Mordechai Dadon, in Beit Shemesh about a month ago. The incident occurred while the two boys were playing in an inflatable pool in the backyard.

Ray's father, Shlomi Alon, recounted hearing screams and finding his son and nephew injured. He described how Ray, despite his own serious neck wound, was able to identify the attacker as Liel Ifargan, 26, the son of a neighbor. "Because of his resourcefulness, he might have saved the next victim," Shlomi said, emphasizing that Ray's testimony was crucial in identifying the suspect.

Police described the murder as brutal and swift, completed in under 30 seconds. The suspect, Liel Ifargan, was arrested near the scene and sent for psychiatric evaluation. Investigators stated that the motive for the attack remains unclear and may never be known. An indictment is expected to be filed against Ifargan next week.

Ray's mother, Linoy Alon, spoke about the emotional toll on her son and the ongoing recovery process.
