C14 Initiative Sees Enthusiastic Response for Psalms Reading Ahead of Rosh Hashanah

The C14 organization's "Psalms for a Good Year" initiative has garnered significant participation as Rosh Hashanah approaches. Within a short time after its launch, dozens of individuals have committed to reading entire books of Psalms, with many others choosing to recite individual chapters or one of the five books of Psalms.

The project allows participants to select specific chapters, one of the five books, or the entire book of Psalms. Once a chapter or book is chosen, it is marked as 'taken' and blocked from further selection until the entire cycle is completed, at which point it resets. Currently, 17 out of 150 chapters have been assigned.

This initiative taps into the long-standing Jewish tradition of reciting Psalms during Rosh Hashanah, the High Holy Days when the coming year is decreed. C14's project aims to facilitate a communal reading experience, enabling everyone to contribute, even by reciting just a single chapter. The organization encourages further participation to usher in the new year with a shared prayer for a good, sweet, and blessed year.
