Ashdod Students Visit Jerusalem for High Holy Days Preparation

By זאב בלוי
Translated & summarized from JDN by baba
The story · English

Students from the "Chazon Meir" Talmud Torah in Ashdod traveled to Jerusalem in preparation for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Led by Rabbi Yekutiel Abuchatzira and educator Rabbi Tzuriell Doani, the students visited Rabbi Shlomo Yedidya Zafrani, head of the "Amlei Torah" rabbinical court. They were tested on their studies and received a preparatory talk for Yom Kippur. Rabbi Zafrani expressed his pleasure with the students' knowledge and led them in song. He concluded the visit with a ceremony accepting the yoke of Heaven. Afterward, the students proceeded to the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest site, where they recited Selichot prayers with a large congregation.
