Arab Israeli Lawmaker Ahmed Tibi Signals Shift in Strategy to Oust Netanyahu

Knesset Member Ahmed Tibi, chairman of the new Joint List, has indicated a significant change in the strategy of Arab political parties, stating his intention to actively participate in determining the next prime minister. In an interview with Reshet Bet, Tibi clarified his aim to work proactively to replace the current government.

"We will do things we haven't done before so that Benjamin Netanyahu is not a transitional prime minister," Tibi declared, adding that "there are parliamentary moves and contacts, everything can be done."

This statement dramatically alters the political landscape. Unlike in previous elections where Arab parties either abstained or took symbolic actions, Tibi now intends to recommend a candidate from the "change bloc" to the President, who has the best chance of forming a coalition and replacing Netanyahu.

Tibi's willingness to use his parliamentary power and provide political backing to an alternative candidate represents a significant blow to the Likud party and the right-wing bloc. This move disrupts the familiar scenario of political deadlock and gives the opposition a substantial advantage in securing the majority needed to form a government.
