Arab Israeli Lawmaker Vows Unprecedented Actions to Oust Netanyahu

Arab Israeli lawmaker Ahmed Tibi, chairman of the Ta'al party, declared in a radio interview that his party is prepared to take "steps we haven't taken before" to end Benjamin Netanyahu's tenure as Prime Minister, even in the event of repeat elections. Tibi stated his intention to "send Ben-Gvir and Smotrich home," asserting that "without us, there is no regime change."

However, Tibi did not elaborate on the specific actions his party might undertake or how far they would go to prevent Netanyahu from continuing to serve. He also did not address potential scenarios such as external support for an alternative government or other parliamentary maneuvers to form a different government after an election.

This is not the first time Tibi has signaled a willingness to take unusual steps to prevent Netanyahu from remaining in power. In February, he suggested in an interview that if the Joint List achieved 15-16 seats, Netanyahu "would not be a transitional prime minister."

This stance echoes past electoral campaigns. In September 2019, Tibi's Ta'al party, along with Hadash and Ra'am, participated in a notable move where ten members of the Joint List recommended Benny Gantz to the President for the task of forming a government.
