Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Owner Richard Daum Seeks Peace With Chairman Shimon Mizrahi

Ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, Richard Daum, one of the owners of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club, sent a conciliatory letter to the team's chairman, Shimon Mizrahi. The letter calls for an end to the legal arbitration between the owners and for disputes to be resolved outside of court.

Daum expressed concern that the ongoing public dispute is harming the club and diverting attention from the strong roster assembled for the upcoming season. He noted that the expected arbitration proceedings throughout the season would create a negative atmosphere.

In his letter, Daum referenced the annual holiday greeting he typically receives from Mizrahi and appealed directly to him. "We are caught in a shareholders' dispute that has become a media spectacle and has diverted our fans' attention from the promising roster we have built to the owners and the struggle for Maccabi's future," Daum wrote. He urged Mizrahi to use his "historic position and legacy" to reach a compromise.

Daum concluded by stating, "My door is always open for a serious and good-faith discussion. I believe we can find a solution that addresses both sides' concerns, preserves your legacy, and maintains the strong connection with the fans."
