Thousands of Women to Gather for Selichot Service in Rishon LeZion
The Rishon LeZion Municipality is hosting a special "Tefilat HaLev" (Prayer of the Heart) event for women, scheduled for September 15, 2026, at the Meir Nitzan Cultural Hall. The event, taking place between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, aims to bring together women from across Israel for an evening of reflection, prayer, and spiritual connection.
Approximately one thousand women are expected to attend the musically-focused gathering, which will feature a discussion on unity and hope between Rabbi Yemima Mizrahi and singer Sheli Shem Tov. The program also includes performances by singers Shiri Maimon and Ruchama Ben Yosef, along with liturgical singer Adi Elbahr, performing songs of supplication and soul.
The event is initiated by Councilman Noam Haddad and Deputy Mayor Rabbi Shmuel Jamil, with the goal of fostering introspection, faith, and a sense of community among women of all ages, sectors, and backgrounds. It is part of a series of community and cultural events organized by the city ahead of the Jewish New Year and holidays, intended to deepen connection to Jewish tradition.
Doors open at 8:00 PM, with the program beginning at 8:30 PM. Tickets are required, with limited seating available. A special price is offered for Rishon LeZion residents, purchasable on the venue's website. The municipality encourages interested attendees to purchase tickets in advance to secure their spot.
