Football Association Launches 'Legends Project' Honoring Past National Team Stars
The Israel Football Association has launched a new initiative called the 'Legends Project,' aimed at honoring former national team players and coaches. Approximately 70 past stars and trainers gathered at the NYX Hotel in Herzliya for a special evening to inaugurate the project.
The primary goal of the event was not only to recognize the contributions of these former athletes but also to bring them back into the spotlight. The association intends to connect their experience, knowledge, and legacy with the present and future Israeli national teams.
Among the attendees were players from Israel's historic 1970 World Cup squad, alongside numerous other players and coaches who have shaped the nation's football history. The evening included a moving tribute to coaches who have passed away, including Shfer, Grundman, Shneur, Kashtan, and Schweitzer.
