Man Indicted for Sexual Assaults on Siblings 20 Years Ago
The State Prosecutor's Office has filed a serious indictment against a Tiberias resident in his 50s for numerous sex offenses committed approximately two decades ago against two siblings when they were about nine years old. The indictment, submitted to the Haifa District Court, also alleges the man assaulted the sister several years later outside of Israel. According to the charges, brought by attorney Ilana Pikus Roitblat of the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal), the defendant cultivated a very close relationship with the siblings' mother, gaining her trust and that of her children. He falsely presented himself as a "therapeutic professional" during this period.
Exploiting this trust and the children's young age, the defendant allegedly committed various sexual offenses against the siblings over an extended period and with high frequency. In some instances, he prevented one of the siblings from leaving and instructed them to keep the acts secret. The charges include sodomy of a minor, indecent acts with minors, causing indecent acts with a minor, and false imprisonment.
