Former Hapoel Be'er Sheva striker Arnold Garita has shared a peculiar anecdote from his time playing in China, detailing a dramatic encounter with the president of his former club, Shenzhen Juniors. Garita, who played for the Chinese team in early 2026 before moving to Romania's Steaua Bucharest, recounted the incident on his TikTok account.

After receiving a red card that resulted in a five-game suspension, Garita claims the club decided to remove him from their registered player list to make space for another foreign striker. He explained that the club believed they couldn't win without a foreign forward and viewed his removal from the list not as a punishment, but as a strategic move for the team's benefit.

Garita stated that he was already frustrated by his inability to play when he received a letter demanding he pay a fine of 40,000 yuan (approximately $5,000) in addition to a $10,000 salary deduction and five days' unpaid wages. He expressed disbelief, questioning how he was expected to pay such a sum, especially given his salary was not exceptionally high.
