Two Young Men Arrested in Northern Israel on Suspicion of Possessing Grenade
Police in Northern Israel announced on August 29, 2026, the arrest of two young men, aged 21 and 23, from the towns of Jish and Haifa. The arrests were made on suspicion of possessing a fragmentation grenade and operating an unlicensed "tractron" vehicle.
Officers from the Northern District noticed the "tractron," a type of utility vehicle, entering Jish without a license plate. During a search of one of the vehicle's occupants, police discovered a fragmentation grenade and gloves. Both individuals were taken to the police station for further questioning.
The suspects are believed to have been in possession of and transporting the explosive device. The investigation is ongoing.
