Palestinian Digital Rights Group "Habeeb" Wins Prestigious EFF Award
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has announced that "Habeeb - The Arab Center for the Development of Social Media" will receive one of its 2026 awards. The recognition is for Habeeb's work in defending digital rights, promoting safe and equitable access to the digital space, and contributing to the protection of free expression and fundamental rights online.
Habeeb announced its pride in receiving the award alongside other honorees: Access Now, DeFlock, and New Media Rights. The EFF Awards, presented for over 30 years, are among the most significant in digital rights and freedoms. They honor individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to defending freedom and innovation on the internet across fields such as journalism, arts, digital access, legislation, and technology and law development.
The EFF is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to defending civil liberties in the digital realm. Since its founding in 1990, it has worked to protect user privacy, free expression, and innovation through strategic litigation, policy analysis, advocacy, community organizing, and the development of technological tools.
