Arab Israeli Party Leader Expects Resolution to Candidate Controversy Within Days

A senior figure in the Arab Israeli Hadash party, former Knesset member Dr. Hanna Sweid, stated on Wednesday that a "decent and satisfactory" solution to the controversy surrounding candidate Jaafar Farah is expected within one to two days. Sweid told Panet news site and Hala TV that efforts are underway to resolve the issue, emphasizing the need to preserve everyone's dignity while maintaining political activity.

Farah, a candidate on the Hadash list for the Knesset elections, issued a personal statement denying allegations made against him. He asserted his commitment to respecting women and stated he is prepared to face any legal or professional independent body to address the claims.

In his Facebook statement, Farah explicitly rejected the accusations, calling them untrue. He affirmed that respecting women has always been a fundamental part of his convictions and behavior, both personally and professionally through his work at the Equality Center. He expressed regret if any past behavior, lacking sufficient consideration, caused offense to anyone, and apologized for any unintended impact, while respecting everyone's feelings.

Farah reiterated his readiness to take responsibility and undergo a fair process before a legal platform or an authorized independent professional body. Sweid's comments suggest ongoing internal party discussions and external contacts aimed at reaching a settlement soon.
