Kfar Qara Children's Play Honors Deceased Girl
The municipality and cultural center of Kfar Qara, Israel, organized a children's play titled "Alice in Wonderland" that also served as a tribute to a young resident, Seham Saeed Abu Al-Foul, who recently passed away. The event, held at the Kfar Qara Cultural Palace, blended joy with a sense of loss.
Maha Zahalka Musalha, director of the Cultural Palace, asked the audience of parents and children to stand and recite Al-Fatiha, a chapter from the Quran, in memory of Seham and to pray for her family's patience. This gesture underscored the community's view of Kfar Qara as a single family, where the grief of one household is shared by all.
The play was dedicated to Seham's memory. Her photograph was displayed at the entrance and inside the hall, prompting attendees to recite Al-Fatiha for her soul. The act of children honoring a peer in a moment of silence was described as deeply moving, embodying childhood innocence, love, and loyalty.
The Kfar Qara Municipality stated that the play aimed to demonstrate how arts and culture can serve as a bridge for humanity and a means to instill values of empathy, fraternity, and loyalty, especially during times of collective grief. The municipality also offered prayers for the deceased child and her family.
