US Jewish Voters Favor Netanyahu Over Trump, Vance in New Poll

A poll conducted by the Jewish Voters Resource Center indicates that 67% of American Jewish voters plan to vote for Democrats in the upcoming US Congressional midterm elections. The survey, which included 800 respondents, found that the most important issues for Jewish voters are the cost of living, the future of American democracy, and antisemitism, with Israel ranking fifth.

While acknowledging an increase in antisemitic and anti-Israel rhetoric within the Democratic Party, respondents identified the actions of the Donald Trump administration as more significant threats to American democracy than those within the Democratic Party. They also expressed strong disapproval of Vice President J.D. Vance, whom they consider a likely successor to Trump, with 82% dissatisfied with his performance compared to 75% dissatisfied with Trump's.

Notably, dissatisfaction with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's performance was lower, at 67%. According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the poll suggests that Republicans are failing to capitalize on internal Democratic Party dynamics to break the long-standing alliance between the party and Jewish voters, which dates back to the era of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Over two-thirds of American Jews continue to support Democratic candidates.
