US Jewish Voters Favor Democrats, View Netanyahu More Favorably Than Trump or Vance
A new poll indicates that 67% of American Jewish voters plan to vote for Democrats in the upcoming US Congressional elections. The survey, conducted by The Jewish Voters Resource Center with 800 respondents, found that cost of living was the top concern, followed by the future of American democracy and antisemitism. Israel ranked fifth among voter priorities.
Despite acknowledging a rise in antisemitic and anti-Israel sentiment within the Democratic Party, respondents deemed issues related to Donald Trump's administration more significant when deciding their vote. They also expressed strong disapproval of Vice President J.D. Vance, considered a likely successor to Trump, with 82% dissatisfied with his performance compared to 75% for Trump.
Notably, dissatisfaction with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's performance was lower, at 67%. The poll suggests that Republicans are struggling to capitalize on internal Democratic Party dynamics and weaken the long-standing alliance between the party and Jewish voters, which has persisted since the Franklin D. Roosevelt era, with over two-thirds of American Jews continuing to support Democrats.
