Meta announced new shopping tools for Facebook and Instagram that will let businesses and brands sell products directly through live broadcasts. The rollout will begin gradually over the coming weeks.
The company said brands will also be able to promote their live streams through Instagram and Facebook advertising tools, helping them reach targeted new audiences and drive purchases in real time. In Israel, Facebook users watching a live stream will be able to discover products, check prices and get more information without leaving the broadcast.
Meta is also expanding monetization options for independent content creators. According to the announcement, creators will now be able to add affiliate links to products in regular posts and short Reels videos, or tag specific products from existing business catalogs.
Under the new model, creators will earn a direct commission whenever users buy a product through the links or tags they include in their content.
