Gershon Reflects on Herzliya's Comeback Win Despite Performance Concerns

Amit Gershon, guard for Bnei Herzliya, expressed satisfaction with his team's 101-98 victory over Hapoel Eilat in their opening game of the Winner Cup, despite acknowledging a subpar performance. The team trailed Eilat by as many as 15 points through three quarters before mounting a comeback in the fourth to secure the win. Gershon contributed 16 points in 22 minutes, playing a key role in the rally. He stated, "I'm happy we won, but we didn't play well today. There's a good feeling here. Slowly things will come together, the coaches are doing a good job. I feel good and I want to connect with a winning team."

The team's foreign guard duo, Zach Bryant and D.J. Broughton, were highlighted for their chemistry and performance. Broughton led all scorers with 28 points, while Bryant added 20. "They help each other and it seems in a short time they have managed to create good chemistry," Gershon commented on the new backcourt.

Noah Carter also scored 20 points, all in the second half. The team also praised D.J. Barnes, noting his significant weight loss over the summer and his potential to be one of the league's top big men this season.
