Police Seize Over 1,000 Cannabis Plants in Southern Israel

Israeli police arrested three suspects in connection with the cultivation of approximately 1,080 cannabis plants near the Shikmim farm in the Negev desert. The operation, which involved aerial surveillance footage captured by a drone, led to the discovery of two cultivation sites.

Authorities observed the suspects' movements and apprehended them as they left the area and entered their vehicle. During a follow-up investigation, officers traced an irrigation pipe, believed to have been used for the illegal crops, for several kilometers. This led them to an unauthorized connection to a main water line, suspected of supplying water to the cannabis fields.

The seized cannabis plants are estimated to be worth tens of thousands of shekels. The three suspects were taken to the Sderot police station for further investigation, along with the confiscated evidence. The operation was conducted by Border Police officers from the southern district and officers from the Sderot station.
