Analyst Claims Netanyahu Hinders Right-Wing Electoral Success

Public figure and columnist Moti Karpel has presented a sharp analysis of the Israeli political landscape, asserting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preventing the national and ideological camp from achieving a historic electoral victory. Karpel argues that without Netanyahu, the ideological and security-focused right would easily win upcoming elections, leading to a decisive and permanent defeat for the left.

Karpel distinguished between the "political right" and the "essential ideological right," stating that while Netanyahu is an asset to the political right, often referred to as the "Only Bibi" camp, he is a liability to the broader national, ideological, and security-political right, describing him as a "heavy weight."

He further commented on shifts in Israeli public sentiment since the outbreak of the war, suggesting that the majority of the public has become more nationalistic, right-wing, and Jewish. However, Karpel contends that due to Netanyahu, these changes lack political expression. He concluded that if the right were to win the upcoming elections, it would be in spite of Netanyahu, not because of him.
