Michal Hakatanah Recounts Humiliating Grocery Store Incident Over Payment Method
Children's entertainer Michal Hakatanah, whose real name is Michal Weitzman, shared a recent frustrating experience at a grocery store in Israel on her Instagram stories. After rehearsals, feeling thirsty and sweaty, she entered a small grocery store, took a bottle of water, and began drinking it. She also picked up a chocolate bar and took a bite. Upon reaching the checkout, she attempted to pay using her mobile phone via Apple Pay.
The store owner refused the mobile payment, insisting on cash only. Weitzman explained she did not have cash, only Apple Pay. The owner became agitated, pressing his face close to hers and reiterating his demand for cash. When she stated she didn't have cash and didn't carry it, he pointed out an ATM. Weitzman informed him she didn't have a card, leaving her unable to withdraw cash.
Ultimately, the owner took back the water bottle and the partially eaten chocolate bar, telling her goodbye. Weitzman's personal life has recently been in the public eye due to her breakup with actor Yehuda Bohbot, who is 19 years her junior. They met while working on the play "Magic of Dinosaurs" and separated in August.
Earlier, Weitzman had also spoken to her followers about the challenges she faces as a single mother raising six children. She described the immense responsibility for their livelihood, home, and overall well-being as a demanding journey requiring unexpected strength. She stated that upon accepting her reality, she took charge, focusing on ensuring her children have everything they need rather than questioning 'why.' She emphasized her hard work, resilience, and protective love for her children, defining her role as a mother as her life's purpose and vowing to raise them with love, security, and the knowledge that she will always support them.
