Israeli Auto Industry Sees Key Executive Appointments and Promotions

Several major Israeli automotive importers have announced significant executive appointments and promotions in recent months. These moves involve both internal promotions and the hiring of experienced professionals from competing firms.

At Smalet, two key positions have been filled. In June, Dana Ravid-Menachem was appointed Vice President of the Premium Division, having previously managed the Genesis brand for the importer, and before that served as Marketing Vice President for Mercedes. Additionally, Shay Keren was appointed Vice President of "Smalet for Business" earlier this month. Keren previously held the position of Service Vice President at the Metro Group and will succeed Ronen Levi, who held the role since late 2019 and will continue to advise the company on various projects.

In a significant development, the board of directors at Chamobil confirmed the appointment of Assaf Haralap as Chairman of the company last week. He succeeds his father, Dr. Shmuel Haralap, who passed away last month. Assaf Haralap has been with Chamobil for approximately 20 years, managing various divisions and brands, and most recently served as an active board member.

Union Motors Group has also announced a series of internal promotions and appointments. Dror Gorenick will transition from his role as CEO of Lexus Israel to become Chairman of Union Mobility and Chairman of Union Industrial Vehicles, while also maintaining his position on the automotive division's board. Itai Hayon Levin is set to become the new CEO of Lexus Israel. Dor Fikel will be appointed Sales and Product Vice President for Toyota Israel, and Aryeh Leib will assume the role of CEO of Union Mobility. These appointments are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.
