Hapoel Tel Aviv's Owusu Leads Israeli League's Most Valuable Players
The Israeli Premier League season has kicked off with significant shifts in player valuations, according to Transfermarkt. Douglas Owusu of Hapoel Tel Aviv has seen the most dramatic increase in value, rising by 542.9% from 700,000 euros in January to 4.5 million euros currently. This surge places him as the league's most valuable player.
Other notable increases include Hapoel Beer Sheva's Lucas Ventura, whose value rose by 75% to 2.8 million euros, and Maccabi Netanya's Bassam Zra'oor, who saw a 500% increase to 1.5 million euros. Hapoel Beer Sheva's defender Itai Rotman also experienced a substantial rise, increasing by 328.6% to 1.5 million euros.
Conversely, some players have seen their market values decline. Emamankwah Forson, also of Hapoel Beer Sheva, experienced the largest drop, falling from 4.5 million euros in January to 3 million euros. Maccabi Tel Aviv's Kristian Blic, hampered by injuries, saw his value decrease from 3.5 million euros to 2.5 million euros, while Omri Glazer of Maccabi Haifa lost 1 million euros in value, now standing at 1.5 million euros.
The updated rankings place Owusu at the top, followed by Hapoel Tel Aviv teammate Helo Varla and Forson. The list of top-valued players also includes Ventura and Tyris Asante, both from Hapoel Beer Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv respectively.
