Rabbi Composes New Song for Alumni Gathering in Jerusalem

A special gathering for nearly 100 alumni of the 'Beit Ha'Talmud' yeshiva was held in Jerusalem ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The alumni are organized under the 'Kolelei Yom Shishi' network, established six months ago by the initiative of the yeshiva's dean, Rabbi Chanoch Cohen. This network convenes every Friday for joint study sessions on topics of their choice. The initiative aims to increase Torah study on the busy Sabbath and maintain camaraderie among the alumni, who often do not meet during the week, and to preserve their connection to the yeshiva's spirit even after marriage.

The event began with the evening prayer, followed by a festive meal. The yeshiva's supervisor, Rabbi Eliyahu Aharon, spoke about the importance of unity and belonging within the group, encouraging attendees to continue growing in Torah and reverence. Rabbi Chaim Yosef Gafner, chairman of the 'Committee of Rabbis for Charity Matters,' also addressed the gathering.

The highlight of the evening was when Rabbi Chanoch Cohen surprised the alumni by debuting a new song he composed for the occasion, which they sang together. He then delivered a powerful address offering encouragement and guidance for the upcoming High Holy Days.

Towards the end of the event, appreciation gifts were distributed to the branch leaders and all participants. Each attendee received a special gift for his wife: an ornate prayer book with the message, "Mine and yours is His," acknowledging their significant role and partnership in their husbands' Torah scholarship.
