Odetta Releases New EP Addressing Domestic Violence and Personal Rumors

Israeli singer Odetta has released a new five-song mini-album titled "Hashem Azar," following a summer of large-scale performances. The EP includes a song called "Dylan 3898*," co-written by Odetta and Avi Ohayon, which depicts domestic violence from a woman's perspective. The song's title incorporates the helpline number for the Michal Sela Forum, an organization dedicated to saving lives and preventing violence against women.

Another track, "Papi," which was a hit last year, is followed by a new song titled "Paphiti." A snippet of "Paphiti" went viral on TikTok before its release, and Odetta performed it at her recent show at Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, where fans were seen singing along enthusiastically.

The album also features a collaboration with singer Ben Tzour on the song "Ve'ani Bechasdecha Bateḥaḥti." Additionally, the track "Nimshachet Le'atzmi" addresses rumors about Odetta's sexuality and a supposed relationship with her close friend Shahar Hiyun. In the song, Odetta sings, "You know what else I understood / That I am not attracted to girls and I am not attracted to boys / And I always knew that I am attracted to myself."
