Iran Denounces UK Sanctions as "Economic Terrorism"
Iran's embassy in London has condemned a new package of anti-Iran sanctions approved by the UK government, labeling them "economic terrorism" and a move that undermines bilateral cooperation. In a statement, the embassy declared the sanctions illegal and detrimental to mutual trust. The statement further urged the UK to condemn "US-Israeli strikes against Iran" instead of joining what it called "unfair American policy of economic terrorism."
The newly imposed sanctions aim to further restrict Iran's access to the UK financial system and its ability to mobilize funds for its nuclear program. The measures also prohibit the export of additional goods and technologies crucial for Iran's conventional weapons production and nuclear development. Additionally, the sanctions target vessels and aircraft.
