Singer Matan Hassan Moves Audience With Gesture to Wheelchair-Bound Fan
Israeli singer Matan Hassan, formerly known as 'the undercover operative,' was filmed in a heartwarming moment following a performance in Jerusalem on Tuesday. A video clip, which quickly garnered tens of thousands of views on TikTok, shows Hassan interacting with Ilai, a young boy who uses a wheelchair.
During their conversation, Ilai told Hassan, "You made my evening." Moved by the encounter, Hassan responded, "I'm a fan of yours!" before embracing the boy and kissing his hand. The interaction deeply touched viewers, who praised Hassan's kindness and humility.
Online reactions included comments like "We made the right person famous!" and "What a king he is! It's great that such nationalists are given a platform." Hassan himself responded to the outpouring of support, writing, "Love you tons."
Hassan first gained public attention during the 'Swords of Iron' war as a reservist in the Border Police's undercover unit. A TikTok video of him singing went viral, leading to an official cover version that achieved significant success. He maintained his anonymity for years but revealed his full name and face in May, coinciding with the release of his single "Lo Mifached" (Not Afraid). This revelation led to the end of his reserve duty in the undercover unit, though he is expected to continue serving in another combat role in the IDF.
