Raanana Women's Soccer Club Aims for Top Tier Playoffs After Successful Return

Following a successful return season to the Israeli Women's Premier League, the Raanana women's soccer club is setting its sights higher for the 2026/27 season, aiming for a spot in the upper playoff bracket. The team, which secured first place in the lower playoff bracket in its comeback year, has significantly strengthened its squad with a mix of experienced Israeli players and international talent.

Key additions include Israeli national team goalkeeper Fortun Rabin and experienced defender Shani David, who will also serve as team captain. Midfield will be bolstered by Hadas Morain from the championship-winning Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem. The club has also made substantial international signings, such as Ghanaian forward Alshadai Ashampong and Nigerian defender Joseph Oguma, who are returning for a second season. New international recruits include Brazilian defender Fabiana Soares, Brazilian midfielder Ladyana de Silva, and Zambian national team defender Martha Tembo.

Coach Idan Hamo expressed confidence in the revamped squad, stating, "I really believe in this squad, we can reach high." He emphasized the team's goal is to be a stable force capable of competing against any opponent and to advance further in the State Cup. The club also highlighted the development of its youth academy, with young players integrating into the national teams and a clear pathway to the senior squad.
