Bnei Yehuda, which won the women’s National League championship, had initially appeared headed to miss out on promotion to the Premier League because it did not meet the league’s financial entry requirements. The orange-clad club beat A.S. Ramat Hasharon 2-0 in the playoff final series, but the league administration and the budgetary control body told it that the top-flight conditions had not been satisfied.
Ramat Hasharon, the runners-up, had already received a letter saying the Premier League place had been transferred to it, and that it needed to submit all required approvals and documents by June 25, meaning Thursday. But a few days later, Bnei Yehuda received a special extension at its request and managed to meet the deadline.
The club from Tel Aviv’s Hatikva neighborhood then presented all of the required documents, including a minimum budget of 2 million shekels. The budgetary control body has already approved the club, and Bnei Yehuda is now expected to return to the Premier League.
