Bnei Yehuda, which won the women’s National League championship, appeared headed to miss out on promotion to the Premier League after failing to meet the top division’s financial requirements. The club had beaten A.S. Ramat HaSharon 2-0 in the playoff final series, but the league administration and the budgetary control body informed it that it had not cleared the economic threshold needed for promotion.
Ramat HaSharon, the runner-up, already received a letter saying the Premier League spot had been passed to it and that it had to submit all required approvals and documentation by June 25, meaning Thursday. However, a few days later Bnei Yehuda was granted a special extension at its request.
The orange-clad club from the Hatikva neighborhood met the new deadline and submitted all the required documents, including proof of a minimum budget of 2 million shekels. Its budgetary control approval has already been granted, and it is expected to return to the Premier League.
